AI FeaturesConnect a chat app

Connect a chat app

Connect Zoop to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or any MCP app — paste your server address, sign in, and approve what it can do.

To use your AI assistant, connect Zoop to your chat app once. You paste one address, sign in, and approve what it can reach. It takes a couple of minutes.

Find your server address

In Zoop, open Settings → API & MCP. Under Your MCP server address, select Copy. It looks like https://app.zoop.pro/api/mcp — yours is specific to your business, so copy the real one from that screen.

Only an owner can manage API keys and connected apps. Any team member can copy the server address, but turning on what a connected app may create or edit is an owner action — see below.

Connect your app

Add a connector

In ChatGPT, add a connector and paste your Zoop MCP server address.

Sign in and approve

Sign in to Zoop and approve what it can access. The approval screen lists the areas — Customers, Jobs, Invoices, and so on — at view or edit level.

Start chatting

It can now work with the areas you allowed — nothing more. Ask it what's on your schedule to test it.

Nothing happens to your data until you approve.

What it can do is up to you

  • Out of the box, ChatGPT and Claude connect read-only — they can look things up, but not change anything.
  • To let a connected app create or edit — book jobs, draft invoices, add customers — an owner widens its access under Settings → API & MCP → Connected apps, or sets a member's access on the Team page. A connected app can never do more than the person who connected it is allowed.
  • Owners can review what's connected, change what it can reach, or cut it off entirely under Connected apps.

See Settings and Control MCP & API access per member for the full picture.
